1. GITEX GLOBAL 2024 is bringing together the international tech community under the overarching theme “Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy.” In your view, how crucial are public-private collaborations for developing the next generation of AI-powered tech solutions?
While with many tech trends, it is the private sector that drives adoption, with AI, and in the Middle East in particular, it is clear that governments are keen to be the driving force. Saudi Arabia’s plans to create a US$40 billion AI fund, and the UAE being the first country in the world to appoint a Ministry of AI, as far back as 2017, are just two proof points of this. Galvanized by this momentum, technology leaders such as Riverbed are helping transform AI from buzzword to reality with powerful use cases that deliver tangible value to organisations. One such use case is AI-powered Observability which gives organisations the power to build actionable unified observability and optimization strategies, to deliver excellent digital experiences. Regional government entities, with their commendable digital-first mindsets, and sprawling IT environments have been among the most receptive to this value proposition. Moreover, government adoption paves the way for private sector entities to follow suit, which helps bolster AI advancement.
2. How is the rapid advancement of AI technologies influencing your industry sector?
Consider Observability – one of the key solution domains for Riverbed. Today’s IT teams face the daunting task of delivering on the digital experience while managing complex IT environments and vast amounts of data and alerts without sufficient context or actionable insights. Our platform not only collects full-fidelity data from across the entire technology stack, through the application of AI, it then analyses all this data and accelerates troubleshooting by offering automated remediations. As a result, by leveraging Riverbed’s AI-powered Unified Observability platform, organizations can reduce the complexity of supporting highly distributed environments to drive operational efficiency, deliver better digital experiences, and enable business growth.
3. Beyond AI, what innovations do you believe will shape the future of your industry and which regions do you foresee leading these advancements by 2025?
Other than AI, I believe mobility technologies would coverage into IT covering autonomous and electric vehicles, urban air mobility, and autonomous-driving, connectivity, electrification, and technologies around it including big data analytics, events correlation, ML/AI directed remediations and more.
Low-Code/No-Code development enhancing Dev-ops would become a game-changing approach to building applications, empowering users, including non-developers, to create software solutions with minimal coding efforts. This innovation will reshape the software industry by accelerating application development, reducing costs, and increasing agility. With Low-Code/No-Code, businesses can quickly respond to changing market demands and rapidly prototype ideas. It democratizes software development, making it accessible to a broader audience.
Of course, I expect to see continuing investment in cloud computing and micro/macro segmentation via enhanced cybersecurity. These technologies are crucial for enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring data security, and providing insights for better decision-making.
