1. GITEX GLOBAL 2024 is bringing together the international tech community under the overarching theme “Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy.” In your view, how crucial are public-private collaborations for developing the next generation of AI-powered tech solutions?
Public-private collaborations are essential for developing the next generation of AI-powered tech solutions. They foster innovation, with the private sector's agility driving the development of cutting-edge AI technologies. Combining this with the strategic vision and resources commonly employed by public entities across the region, this synergy is crucial for addressing complex challenges and ensuring that AI technologies are developed responsibly and effectively, ultimately benefiting society.
2.How is the rapid advancement of AI technologies influencing your industry sector?
The cybersecurity landscape is undergoing a revolution due to the rapid advancement of AI technologies. While AI can pose significant cybersecurity risks to company data, businesses that embrace the AI transformation will be better equipped to safeguard data against the myriad of cyber threats looming in the digital age. The ability of AI alone to analyze vast amounts of data and identify patterns makes it a truly invaluable tool for enterprises that have more data than they even know exists.
AI is has already become crucial for the cybersecurity industry, driving and enabling more proactive threat detection and response, data discovery and classification, phishing detection, cybersecurity training protocols and so much more. AI enhances the accuracy of data classification and threat detection, identifying unusual activities that could signify a cyberattack long before legacy solutions have a chance to catch up.
3.How is your business adopting and integrating AI innovation?
Forcepoint is at the forefront of the AI revolution in cybersecurity – leveraging AI to enhance our data security solutions to keep pace with the digital world. We recently introduced our Forcepoint GenAI Security solution, offering visibility, control and risk-based data protection across GenAI platforms, including integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise Compliance API. The solution brings together Forcepoint ONE SSE (our cloud-delivered platform for controlling access and content on AI applications and other websites) alongside Forcepoint ONE Data Security (cloud-native DLP) and Forcepoint Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) to empower teams to safely leverage GenAI capabilities. Forcepoint DSPM is even powered by AI Mesh technology to increase the speed and accuracy of data discovery, classification, risk assessment and mitigation, ensuring confidential data remains protected even when used in LLMs.
Integrating AI and machine learning into cybersecurity helps enterprises enhance data classification, risk mitigation and more, ensuring that sensitive information remains protected regardless of how it is used. These advanced solutions allow organizations to proactively manage risks, improve threat detection, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ultimately enabling safer and more efficient operations in an increasingly digital world.
4.Beyond AI, what innovations do you believe will shape the future of your industry and which regions do you foresee leading these advancements by 2025?
As businesses continue to navigate through the digital and AI transformation, the core mandate of ensuring data security everywhere within an organization must remain top priority. Industries are laser-focused on AI (and rightfully so) and will be for quite some time. We foresee regions like the Middle East and Southeast Asia leading these advancements by 2025, driven by significant investments in digital transformation and a strong focus on data security. Countries in the Middle East, such as the UAE, have already outlined ambitious plans to invest in AI research and development as part of their 2025 action plans. The UAE's focus on technological innovations and inclusive future will drive advancements in data classification and cybersecurity. For instance, the UAE has launched the Dubai Cyber Index, a program aimed at enhancing cybersecurity in the public sector through data classification and risk assessment.
