Dubai Police set to launch second NFT collection during GITEX 2022
The first edition, featured 150 free digital assets focused on the police force’s values of innovation, security and communication.
Dubai Police is set to launch the second edition of its NFT (non-fungible tokens) during GITEX 2022, said in a statement released by WAM.
This announcement comes after 22.91 million people across the globe registered their interest in being owners of the force’s first edition of NFTs, released by the force’s General Command during the second quarter of this year.
Over 7,000 direct messages for the first edition were received from participants through social media, said Dubai Police’s director of the general department of Artificial Intelligence, Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, in a statement.
“All participants were contacted to confirm digital wallet addresses, and those who met the requirements were shortlisted in a raffle draw, of which 150 individuals won and received Dubai Police digital assets for free,” Al Razooqi said.
Dubai Police’s announcement garnered attention, both locally and globally with Saudi Arabia, United States of America, India and Nigeria, interacting with the news primarily, added Al Razooqi.
The total views of the announcement, Al Razooqi revealed, reached a total of 589,173 across social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Dubai Police is the first government entity in the UAE and the first police organisation across the world, to create digital assets. The second collection will be launched during GITEX 2022, Al Razooqi said.
