The Altair CAD and FMS System has been successfully implemented at the Abu Dhabi based National Ambulance in February. The setup enables the National Ambulance to streamline its operational process and automate the incident lifecycle from call taking and driver dispatching to mission follow up and performance management.

The Altair CAD System is one of Softec International’s innovative M2M Smart City solutions. Based on information coming from the call taker who goes through a medical questionnaire, the system runs incident details through an emergency medical triage program with a selection engine which dispatches the vehicle that is most suitable for the incident, putting into consideration estimated arrival times and the level of criticality. This minimizes human interaction in the selection process and ensures a quick and efficient reaction to incidents with optimized response times. Dispatching orders are directly routed to drivers and paramedics via on-board vehicle tablets that are also used to track the missions and navigate drivers to incident locations. Fleet management and performance monitoring modules give decision makers real-time overview on response times, quality of service, and incident statistics, and the ability to control and organize assets, and schedule patient transfer services.
Police stations in the Northern Emirates have direct access to the system and can use it to declare incidents. Requests for ambulances are immediately routed to the ambulance command & control room.
