CeBIT 2016 (14–18 March, Mon.–Fri.)
Digitization is revolutionizing the market for data centers, forcing companies to review their IT systems and make the necessary adaptations. CeBIT 2016 will bring together the full range of offerings involving the “Data Center of the Future”, while introducing some exciting new angles in both its exhibition and conference segments.
Hannover, Germany. According to an IDC survey covering several European nations, data centers at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are on average seven years old. This underscores the special urgency for SMEs to upgrade and modernize their facilities, since in an age of rapidly growing data quantities and steadily rising cost pressure, an antiquated infrastructure can lead to serious problems.
Expanded range of exhibition themes
In cooperation with DatacenterDynamics (DCD), the British specialist for data center conferences, CeBIT is expanding its “Data Center” exhibition segment. From 14 to 18 March 2016, Hall 12 at CeBIT will serve as a unique nucleus covering all aspects of the data center of the future. The range of developments on display will range from ready-made, container-based data centers and solutions for intelligent power supply, ventilation and cabling to individual rack components. Apart from “traditional” data center topics, the Hannover-based event will for the first time be showcasing storage solutions, server technologies, high-performance computing and Cloud-based IT services all under the same roof.
Additional highlights within the exhibition segment include technology for ensuring the physical security of data centers. And the complete range of data protection and Virtual Security offerings will be featured in the “Business Security” display segment at CeBIT in Hall 6.
More talks and product presentations next year
Apart from getting a firsthand look at the latest products and solutions, attending professionals will also benefit from an expanded conference program. For the first time, topics involving the construction, planning and management of state-of-the-art data centers will be discussed on two separate stages. One stage will be reserved for the “DCD Converged” conference, covering infrastructure-related themes, while the other stage will be devoted to a conference covering software and open-source-related issues.
“StackingIT” is the title of the new conference, featuring high-caliber speakers who will delve into the pros and cons of the Open Compute and Open Stack data center standards, which are already in use at global corporations like Facebook and are busy driving new innovations. For the first time in 2016, the two stages and consequently the entire program of conferences will be free of charge to CeBIT visitors.
More than 22,000 visitors from around the world visited Hall 12 at CeBIT this year to find out more about data centers. The concept was a great success, resulting in a high degree of satisfaction among participating exhibitors, with the upshot that many manufacturers are looking forward to CeBIT 2016.
“In 2016 Rittal will be exhibiting at CeBIT for the 26th time,” reports Dirk Miller, Marketing Director at the Herborn-based Rittal company. “We are greatly looking forward to Hall 12 as a showcase for the ‘Data Center of the Future’. As a globally leading provider of solutions for individual and standardized data centers, we are eager to help shape this future in tandem with our customers.
