SGoAir is a New Generation Access Network (NGAN), Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) system Point-to-Multipoint that provides Fiber To The Premises (FTTP) like services in places where the Fiber deployments are not technically or economically feasible

SGoAir operates in 28 GHz bands for urban and sub urban deployments, with a reach that ranges from 2 to 4 km, and for lower density zones, a 10 GHz option is available with a reach from 4 to 10 km. This optimal FWA solution is a Point-to-Multipoint wireless DOCSIS 3.x open architecture with up to 2.5 Gbps per Sector (up to 20 Gbps per Base Station) supporting more than 1.000 subscribers.

By operating in licensed frequency bands, SGoAir enables a wide range of residential, business and wholesale services such as 100 Mbps and above Internet access, High Definition IPTV, VoIP telephony, Virtual Private Networks with differentiated Quality of Service (QoS) and bitstream. And thanks to the use of DOCSIS there are many low cost, widely available certified CPE sources (e.g. DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modems).

The system include the following equipment and licenses:

  • SS-BST (Base Station Transciever): it establishes a wireless link between the network and the user sides. It can be equipped with different antennas to conform a sector.
  • RTU (Remote Transceiver Unit): it provides connection to the Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) as the cable-modem with the broadband network. The RTUs can be shared among multiple users.
  • CMTS (Cable Modem Terminal System): it handles the high-speed data between the service provider network and the CPEs according to DOCSIS 3.x standards.
  • NMS (Network Management System): software that provides the configuration of the services, their provision to the users and the overall equipment management.
