MicroCenter Group redefines Training in Autodesk Courses

MICROCENTER Hall: Hall 2 Stand: H2-D36
MicroCenter - Autodesk Launch Event

Gulf Daily News press release on the Autodesk training center and partnership launch event.

Leading information technology solutions company MicroCenter Group has officially announced its academic partnership with Autodesk.

The initiative will enable the establishment of an Autodesk authorised learning centre, Design BIM Studio, and Certiport authorised test centre.

The partnership will work to redefine advanced education and work skills in Autodesk design applications, 2D and 3D CAD designs, infrastructure designs, building information model (BIM) and BIM co-ordination, 3D model and real-world visualisation.

The collaboration adds more value to industry professionals who can choose advanced education on Autodesk software applications through the Micro Training Center (MTC), a subsidiary of MicroCenter Group.

Courses offered are AutoCAD, AutoCAD-Civil 3D and Map 3D, AutoCAD–Plant 3D, Revit Architecture, Revit MEP and Structural, Navisworks, Inventor, 3DS Max, Fusion 360 and Maya and Autodesk professional certification.

MicroCenter Special Projects Business and MTC will establish BIM design and BIM Education centre this year, to offer complete building information modelling and implementation services via the 3D laser scanning technology, for building, infrastructure and metro-rail projects.

BIM studio will provide advanced and professional skills training to engineers, architects, industry professionals, educators, and students.

MTC has already been recognised by geographic information system company Esri as an international learning centre for the kingdom to teach Esri GIS courses.

Esri and Autodesk are working to bring together GIS and BIM across multi-disciplinary teams and project life cycles.

The vision is that of an integrated and collaborative workflow that advances understanding of projects in context, and reduces inefficiencies, data loss, and cycle times.

Designers and engineers can now bring GIS content from ArcGIS Online into Infraworks through the Autodesk Connector for ArcGIS.

Content such as roads, pipelines, and electrical transformers can now be directly imported based on an authoritative, current geographic system of record.

The group officially announced the partnership at a major launch forum held recently at the Wyndham Grand Manama.

During the event, Autodesk and MicroCenter experts discussed the future trends in BIM and 3D design essential to the strategic sectors of architecture and construction that will shape the future of Bahrain.

Some of the topics discussed were Lidar, drones, reality capture, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and emerging technologies like augmented reality and virtual reality.

Multiple technical sessions were delivered by Autodesk UAE account manager Phil Auguste, Omnix International, UAE technical consultant Vivek Gopinath, Autodesk Education Program MEA programme manager Safalya Wanwase, geodetic engineer Mary Jane, and MicroCenter business solutions consultant Abu Bashar.

“In line with our vision to offer career-focused training programmes in the emerging areas of the knowledge society, we are delighted to partner with Autodesk to introduce state-of-the-art courses in design for students and professionals across Bahrain,” said MicroCenter general manager and chief operating officer R D Ranjan.

“MicroCenter has the capability to deliver technology education in Bahrain, as they are not just an educational institute but practitioners in the related fields for over 30 years.

“MicroCenter Special Projects Business and BIM Studio is well equipped to offer services such as geodetic surveying, 3D laser scanning-LiDar and radar, 3D utility mapping, BIM-design and build services from initial sketches to the final construction,” said MicroCenter chief technology officer Dr Anirudha Kale.

The special event ended with a speech by MicroCenter Group chief marketing manager Nasir Warsi.

With one of their key goals being profound education in advanced technology areas, the group plans to offer hydrographic surveying and mapping in the near future.
