What are your reasons for coming onboard the 43rd edition of GITEX Global, what are your expectations, and who are you hoping to meet at the show?
We believe that GITEX Global 2023 will be the launchpad for innovations and discussions around AI and its integration across industry touchpoints and modern governments’ and enterprises’ operations. As a leader in the enterprise networking space, we see a significant advantage here, as the network is the foundation of all of these new tools and applications. This movement of AI and Automation will drive the relevance and dependence on the network. The network sits in the center of everything so the insights and machine learning happening is unmatched and we’re excited to show booth visitors just how powerful that can be when it comes to creating more operational efficiency across an entire organization. Imagine if you could stage and test your entire network before deploying it? With our Digital Twin solution, you can do that – saving both man hours and thousands of dollars. Imagine if your network was intelligent enough to alert you before there is an outage. We can do that too. AI is truly changing what we thought was possible and we expect to see a lot of that on display at GITEX.
Are you planning to launch any products or services, demonstrate new technologies, or sign any partnerships during the show? Please provide details to help us amplify your presence.
We have an exciting interactive experience planned for our stand featuring the world-over loved Manchester United football club as we showcase how we have completely changed the fan experience at Old Trafford, using our Wi-Fi and cloud management solutions. We’ll also talk a lot about data sovereignty and how being able to manage your network your way whether that’s through our regional data center or public, private or hybrid cloud scenarios, will improve data transparency and transmission for our customers in META. We will demonstrate how simple and flexible networking can be and how we have changed the status quo of networking. We provide customers with One Network, One Cloud through One Extreme.
How important is GITEX Global for your business, and what is the volume of business growth you anticipate from your participation in the show?
GITEX Global is a key event in a calendar that we prepare for all year round and we anticipate significant business development to take place.
How important is the Middle East and Africa for your business, and what is your growth strategy in the region over the coming years?
The META region is being driven by a digital-savvy, young generation and forward-thinking governments and companies, that expect their world to be connected through their fingertips and are constantly challenging companies like Extreme Networks to reimagine networking and technology in order to do so.
META is one of our most important regions and we are looking to expand on our considerable presence through our simple, but powerfully innovative offerings including an AI-powered cloud, universal and scalable networking and our next-generation Wi-Fi solutions.
To what extent can the region’s bold digital transformation missions elevate the global tech ecosystem?
Regional digital transformation ambitions are already elevating the global tech ecosystem. We are seeing the rise of never-before seen innovations when it comes to smart cities, fully digitalized government services in the UAE, and the rapid deployment of 5G networks, IOT, Digital Twin technology and cloud-computing across various sectors in the region. The region’s impact on a global level is also being driven by unprecedented investment levels as well as the increasing number of technology industry giants, start-ups and providers that are setting up operations in the region.
Which countries and industry verticals are you targeting as part of your business plan over the next 5-10 years?
While the main hub of our operations will remain the GCC countries, Turkey and South Africa we are also keen to build our presence in the Levant, other African countries and parts of Eastern Europe. We are also focused on verticals including retail, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, oil and gas and state and local government.
GITEX Global is accelerating the epic race for AI dominance in 2023: how is your business embracing the AI innovation wave?
As a networking vendor we are the central nervous system driving AI. Our CoPilot solutionAIOps with Industry’s First Networking Digital Twin and Explainable AI/ML is designed to improve deployment and day-to-day operations, while reducing business risk. How?
Simplify staging, validation and deployment of switches and access points from the cloud with new digital twin capabilities. Eliminate weeks or months associated with hardware deployments by first creating a digital twin to ensure smooth roll outs.
Reduce mean time to resolution leveraging explainable AI/ML to distinguish network anomalies and help IT and network administrators see, verify and trust proactive insights.
Efficiently use IT resources with features like automated ticketing, which does not require customer action.
Manage the network from any device using ExtremeCloud IQ Companion. IT teams can flexibly manage operations and gain real-time visibility into the network, regardless of location or device.
Aside from AI, what is the world’s next big technology shift and how should government, business, and society prepare for it?
Our technology vision is built on the premise of what we call the Infinite Enterprise. That means every organization becomes infinitely distributed and must continue to evolve the way they think about how they invest in technology to keep pace. Think of it this way: a hospital setting for example no longer exists within four walls. You have doctors and clinicians traversing the hospital with devices, you have more and more applications connecting to the network each day, you have doctors conducting virtual telehealth visits, you have mobile vaccine clinics. The world as we knew it has changed and enterprise organizations must keep up with the demands of being relevant, operational and profitable in this new world.
We help customers succeed in the Infinite Enterprise by helping them: achieve this notion of infinite distribution but in a way that is customer-centric (the end customer must have a great experience) and we help them do that at scale.
GITEX Global and GITEX Impact will build up the momentum for COP 28, taking place in Dubai from 30 November -12 December. How do you see the adoption of ESG strategies by tech companies, and what are the critical factors for those initiatives leading to a more sustainable future?
Energy usage and hardware production and disposal are obviously the key areas that technology companies need to address as a priority. For a more sustainable future, clear roadmaps and targets as well as exchanging insights and innovative solutions will be critical for the successful adoption of ESG strategies. At Extreme, we are on target to reduce our global carbon footprint by 50% in 2030. We are also repurposing our technologies and our teams are seeking ways to design, manufacture, and deliver software-driven networking solutions in an environmentally and socially sustainable manner.
