The Opt-X® Unity 40/100G Fiber System which isa pre-terminated MTP system featuring new cable, connector, and termination technologies. For the first time, customers will be able to use a 24-fiber pre-terminated MTP system to transmit 100GbE speeds utilizing multi-mode or single-mode fiber. The Opt-X Unity system was designed specifically to meet IEEE 802.3ba requirements and new 100GBASE-SR10 and 40GBASE-SR4 equipment. It allows for a straightforward migration path to 40G or 100G performance, and is backwards compatible with existing Gigabit or 10G networks. The system meets the tight optical cabling channel insertion loss (IL) requirements specified in the IEEE standard. The 24-fiber MTP system offers at least double the density in fiber enclosures than legacy 12-fiber cabling, and allows for fewer cable pathways and improved air flow in datacenters. Also, customers are less likely to require the assistance of contractors with 24-fiber cabling due to streamlined, simplified installation.
Secure RJ Copper System – The system adds to Leviton’s line of keyed connectivity solutions, which also includes the Secure Keyed LC Fiber System. With the two systems, organizations can physically secure all of their high-priority copper and fiber ports. The new secure copper system provides physical port security with a patent-pending locking mechanism that can only be released with a matching-color keyed extraction tool. The design is compatible with industry standard RJ ports in network equipment, devices, patch panels, and work area outlets. System components include patch cords, trunks, port blockers, and extraction tools, and are available in CAT 6A and CAT 6.
Fiber Enclosure Lines – Leviton recently launched the Opt-X 1000i and 500i, two new rack-mount fiber enclosures. The enclosures create an inter-connect or cross-connect between backbone cable and active equipment while using minimum rack space in a frame or cabinet setting, and offer a unique appearance that complements the look of Leviton’s popular Opt-X Ultra Fiber Enclosures. The Opt-X 1000i Rack-Mount Enclosure was designed for medium-size applications and is available in 1, 2, 3, and 4RU sizes. The Opt-X 500i Rack-Mount Enclosure replaces the Opt-X 500 and 250 and offers an economical option for small enterprise networks and is available in 1, 2, and 3RU sizes.
