San Jose, CA (October 10, 2012) – Wifarer, the leader in indoor positioning technologies in North America, today announced a new partnership with Dubai-based IGNIS Information Technology as it extends its business into Middle Eastern markets, starting in Dubai. The software-as-a-service company provides a robust IPS technology solution offering real-time turn-by-turn wayfinding and high accuracy location-based content to serve both large venues and consumers.
Winner of multiple technology and innovation awards, Wifarer’s proprietary technology uses a venue’s existing Wi-Fi infrastructure to pinpoint the indoor location of a user’s smartphone to an average accuracy of 1.3 meters. Unlike other IPS solutions on the market, Wifarer’s technology is easily and affordably deployed and does not require venues to purchase, install or maintain custom hardware. When the app is launched, it automatically downloads the venue’s maps and content, which are controlled and updated by the venue. An innovative solution for confusing transportation hubs and crowded shopping centers, Wifarer not only provides turn-by-turn directions but also automatically delivers multimedia information about nearby objects, amenities and promotions to a user’s smartphone.
