A specialist in free technology and open source industrialisation, TECLIB will introduce its software and services offer at GITEX 2012. On account of its partnership with Oracle, the company currently uses Virtual Desktop technology, an innovative solution that allows the virtualisation of workstations. TECLIB will also take advantage of the tradeshow to present IT Management, its second key offer, which can be used to manage an entire IT infrastructure using freeware.
Virtual Desktop is an innovative solution used to virtualise several desktops on to one or more servers or within a Cloud environment. With this solution, every user can connect to their desktop using a variety of equipment:
A Linux, Windows or Mac computer using Oracle Virtual Desktop Client
An ultra-light OracleSunRay Client
An iPad Tablet through the OVDC application for iPad
What are the benefits of this technology?
The SunRay Client is a totally silent, ultra-light client that can save substantial space and that consumes very little energy (< 10 Watts depending on the model)
The SunRay requires no special installation or configuration, updates automatically from the network and requires no administration
Reinforced security thanks to strong authentication using a smartcard system
Substantial mobility: virtual desktops may be accessed from anywhere in the world
In the event that the company uses another kind of computer, it will naturally be able to continue using it to connect with virtual desktops
This technology will help to homogenise your IT infrastructure and to perform the speedy deployment of a user environment, unlike a “standard” workstation that requires regular interventions. It will fully industrialise your user working environments’ lifecycle and facilitate migrations from one system to another.
IT Management is TECLIB’s second key offer. Made up of the Helpdesk solution, the GLPI IT Resources Manager and the Fusioninventory inventory management software, it will manage an entire IT infrastructure, boosted by the Centreon supervision solution.
What are the benefits of this technology?
It is a freeware, multiplatform solution (Windows, Mac, Unix, Linux), fully publisher- and manufacturer-independent, featuring bandwidth preservation and full web, and leading to cost savings since the software operates with no paid licence scheme. All solutions obey appropriate standards and are interoperable with other freeware and some proprietary software. They are also independent of operating system publishers.
