H.E Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, visited on Monday morning, the Ministry of Interior’s Pavilion at the GITEX Technology Week 2012. His Excellency was given a detailed explanation from the pavilion’s staff, on the electronic services and programs offered by the Ministry to the public that are on display at the exhibition.
Al Shafar toured some of the pavilions, accompanied by Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, where he reviewed latest offerings provided by the various Ministries, local departments and other major companies participating in the exhibition.
He stressed the importance of police participation in the exhibition to introduce the technical and electronic services used by police, in addition to getting acquainted with the latest technical developments in different fields, and benefiting from the expertise of the participants.
Al Shafar expressed his pleasure for the intensive turnout and broad participation of the Ministry of Interior. He praised the diversity of electronic programs and services offered to the public, considering them as a modern tool of communication between the police and community members at any time. He also praised the efforts exerted by all the pavilion personnel.
“The Ministry’s participation at the exhibition and the new services it provided, represent a great opportunity for visitors, as they were able to get a close look at the projects, systems and services provided by the Ministry via the internet. The Ministry also gets the chance to know the public’s opinion, notifications and suggestions regarding its services,” he said.
For his part, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, said that by participating in this event, the Ministry of Interior is keen to get acquainted with the latest technologies and updates displayed by international tech companies, in order to enhance its e-services.
“The Ministry is interested in exploring cooperation opportunities with strategic partners from different sectors, federal, local and private, in order to enhance and build strategic partnerships to exchange knowledge and expertise in the technology sector aiming to widen the scope of its innovative e-services,” he added.
The Ministry of Interior’s pavilion witnessed a wide attendance by professionals, Ministry partners and the public. Visitors had a close look on the wide variety of services that the Ministry is displaying at the GITEX Technology Week 2012, in light of the big developments taking place in the digital world. The Ministry of Interior, represented by all of its headquarters and departments, is keen to launch more electronic services using the most advanced technology, in order to facilitate administrative processes and reach users anywhere anytime.
The Ministry of Interior is displaying in its pavilion at Sheikh Saeed Hall, a number of high-quality initiatives, projects and systems, the first of their kind in the region. The Ministry also shed light on a big number of services that it provides to individuals and institutions via electronic channels in different sectors. A number of officers and non-commissioned officers are delivering a series of presentations in order to raise the visitors’ awareness on these services and how to benefit from them.
